Senator George Thompson Sekibo is a second term senator representing one of the most heterogeneous senatorial districts in Nigeria. Currently the chairman of the senate committee on Defense and Army, he had held several positions in government from the grassroots to the national level. he was the pioneer chairman of Okirika L. G. A. and the last chairman of Okirika/Oyigbo/Tai/Eleme local government area. He also served as special adviser on special projects to the Rivers State Government during the administration of Gov. Peter Odili. He was also a member of the house of the Representatives from 2003-2007.
