Abstract
Echoes from the Past are not the work of historian. It is the discourses the author has had at different form on different subjects with different groups. One thing they all have in common is that the forum is Nigeria, the people, Nigerians, and the subject matter their welfare and security, which is why government is there, but which those in government seem to have problems with handling. The material is located in a time slot that is now the past. So, time has become the witness to the pointers then to now, just two years before Nigeria clocks 100 years as integrated space. There are 19 chapters with an introduction, a preface and an exciting epilogue which reports the actors of the 90s to the future to be judged. The author believes that Nigeria does not just have a future, that it has a mission which we must all work together to fulfill.
