Abstract
The Cultural policy of Nigeria is the instrument for utilizing culture for socio-economic transformation as it proposes culture as the fountain spring of all policies and strategies of national development, but it is dangerously neglected in the Nigerian policy arena which is littered with policies flawed with faulty implementation strategies. This work attempt to bring these issues down-to-earth with regard to the Nigerian situation, with a review of the cultural policy and assessment of the direct impact of culture in the develop process. The way forward is proposed and recommendations proffered.
