Abstract
In a constant state of development, international humanitarian law, which protects the victims of armed conflicts, currently consists of some 600 provision in the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols. In a clear and concise from, this booklet provides a handy resume of the basic rules of humanitarian law: it is preceded by a summary in seven points setting out the key elements of the la of armed conflicts. Intended mainly for dissemination purposes, this work in no way replaces the complete provisions of the International agreements to which the marginal notes refer.
