On the night of August 20,1976, UN force in Korea stood at DEFCON I,with B-52swinging their way toward the North Korean capital fighter warning their engines on the runway, and helicopter gunships hovering across the border. Commanders throughout Korea were flooded with requests female soldiers for transfer to the rear. War was more than bargained for when they joined the Army.Most fully expected to be evacuated.
