Abstract
Essentials of Nigeria’s Peace & Security Mission in Africa
Right from Independence in 1980, Nigeria has been involved in the politics of peace and security in Africa. Nigeria’s consistency in her concern for Africa is evident in the adoption of Africa as the corner stone of the country’s foreign policy. this policy has subsequently seen her committing massive financial and human resources to several peace and security missions across the content.
This book is a chronicle of some of the major conflicts across Africa in which Nigeria intervened military and Diplomatically to restore peace and ensure security, viz Liberia, Sierra Leone, Dafur Sudan, DR Congo, Zimbabwe, Guinea, Somalia, Guinea Bissua, Togo, Cote d’ivore, Angola and Sao Tome & Principe.
Similarly the book examines Nigeria’s efforts at combating the spread of International terrorism to its territory.
