Abstract
The subject matter of this book is inter-intelligence gathering and sharing for effective crime control. From the hindsight of history, following the Nigeria-Biafra Civil War of 1967-1970, armed uprising has been the bane of political development in thee country. In fact, since the end of the civil war, there has been an upsurge in the number of arms in the hands of certain criminal elements and this has been fuelled by other regional conflicts across West-Africa.
This book is therefore unique for the following reasons. First, the problematic dilemma of striking a balance among the different security agencies in respect of intelligence gathering, usage and sharing for effective security management cannot be over stressed.
Secondly, its publication is timely as Nigeria remains at the threshold of numerous armed uprising from the rampart bombings by the Jama'atu AhlSunnati ul Da awatiwal Jihad Islamic sect (aka Boko Haram) in the Northern parts of the country and other armed uprisings witnessed in the South, especially the Niger Delta.
