Abstract
The national disaster response plan (NDRP), is an operations oriented document authorized by the national emergency management agency, established under decree 12 of 1999. The NDRP establishes the framework for an effective system, to ensure that the country will be adequately prepared to deal with occurrence of emergencies and disasters. The plan outlines the roles and responsibilities of federal agencies, private organizations and volunteer organizations. The NDRP also aims at unifying the efforts of these groups, for a comprehensive approach at reducing the nation’s vulnerability to a host of identified hazards.
