Abstract
The study focused on “proliferation of small arms and light weapons (SALW) and National Security: an appraisal of the Malian Agency for the fight against small arms and light weapons”. Over the years proliferation of SALW has been on the increase in Mali. This is evident in the rise in incidences of Insurgency, farms/herdsmen conflict and ethno-religious conflict. The study was therefore motivated by the need to identify ways of curbing the proliferation of SALW by the Malian National Commission against Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCSLW) in order to improve Mali’s National (NS).
