Abstract
The Nigerian army resource centre was established as an organ of the Nigerian Army on 20 November 2015
It is located at the Mambilla barracks junction, Asokoro, Abuja.
The centre is saddled with the responsibility of generating relevant ideas, and proffering solutions to some changes confronting the Nigerian army and tasks assigned to it through research, brainstorming sessions involving seasoned retired and serving officers and erudite scholars, publication of Journals and strategic books, as well as organisation of seminars, conferences and roundtables. The centre also effect human resource development through knowledge and skills imparting workshops. It also renders consultancies services on various security related issues, showcases new inventions, promotes interdisciplinary studies, issues annual reports, and provides when required, necessary advice to the Chief of Army Staff to enhance decision making and policy formulation.
The vision of the centre is “to become a leading think-tank and centre of excellence with the capacity to conduct research, advanced knowledge and proffer solutions to topical contemporary issues on defence, security and sustainable development”.
The mission of the centre is “to provide research based-solutions to defence and security issues while enhance human resource development”.
The core values of the centre are: professionalism, teamwork, integrity, resourcefulness, and innovation.
The centre runs under a board of trustees whose chairman is the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai
The centre is currently headed by a Director General, Maj Gen JGS Hamakim (RTD)
