Abstract
The desire for peaceful community in the challenging world necessitates the call for collaboration among nations to confront the growing security threat collectively. Perhaps the significant of global peace security to national development made collective security strategy sought after by nations. Despite concerned efforts of at implementing collective security to enhance her national development. The Republic of Con go is still faced with myriad of problems in achieving it objective. The Republic of Congo is still dint of trans-border crimes and threats of security and challenges from the resolved conflict within its neibouring countries. In May 2014., about 130,000 illegal migrants of DR Congo Nationals infiltrated the country and caused humanitarian crisis. The inability of government to adequately provide basic security and control of the borders and meet the basic human needs of their citizens poses constraint to Congo's national development. This situation has raised serious concerns and informed this study titled "Collective Security and National Development in the Republic of Congo". At the heart of the problem is the absence of a legal and institutional framework on collective security that gives a legal backing and structural strategy for it implementation in the Republic of Congo.
